MOSCOW, Aug 14 (PRIME) -- Russian national flag carrier Aeroflot sees risks of falling under Western sanctions because of its connection with the tourism sector of Crimea, as seen by PRIME on Friday in the airline’s report for April–June.
“Aeroflot is not a company registered in the E.U., thus the E.U. sanctions will not affect the company, excluding cases when any operation, in which Aeroflot participates, is held…or connected with Crimea’s or Sevastopol’s tourism sector,” the company said.
In 2014, the company had to suspend operations of its low-cost affiliate Dobrolyot after the E.U. sanctions prompted several European counteragents to annul leasing, maintenance and insurance contracts with the unit, as well as deny the airline navigation information.
